Senate to hear budget bills in Appropriations today

The Senate is scheduled to hear the trailer bills to the 2010 budget in Appropriations Committee today. The Committee is scheduled to meet at 9:30am in Senate Hearing Room 109. Budget deal confirmed

We can confirm that a budget deal has been reached.   The proposal will consist of four components: 1)     The passage of the budget bills which were voted on earlier this month. 2)     A set of trailer bills to the budget package. 3)     A flat tax proposal. 4)     A sales tax referral to the ballot.  [...]

Budget Update:

The Senate introduced a set of bills which will be used as a trailer to the FY2010 budget last night. These bills will make changes to the budget which was passed by both houses earlier this month.   Please check back frequently for updates.

Schedule Update:

The Senate will go to the floor today at 1:00 p.m.  We will recess, caucus bills approved by Rules yesterday (June 23) as well as the conference committee report for SB 1049 (fingerprint clearance cards), and return to the floor to complete the COW calendars scheduled for today.  We will then adjourn for afternoon committees.

Arizona Supreme Court decision

The Supreme Court took jurisdiction, but denied relief to the governor.
